Sita's Ram
Sita's Ram
Sitting alone
in a land far far away...
In a distant part of the world
her being reverberated with Ram,
each moment,
every night, every day.
Alone in the Vatika malign,
Her divinity
Made the hostile garden too shine...
Tending even to a blade of grass
and blossoms and buds,
The daughter of Earth waited for Ram
Sitting on a carpet made of mud.
The name of Ram,
For her gurgled the brook,
His presence she felt in every nook.
The leaves rustled
and the sun sweltered bright
In every twinkle of stars
she saw Ram's light.
When drops of water fell from the clouds
and the welkins shook with thunder loud
Sita sat with her eyes closed
Uniting with Ram,
in her heart, she reposed.
Under the shadow of the shimshapa tree
Sita sat composed.
Turbulence often filled her eyes
but Ram's name made all her anxiety subside.
When cotton candy clouds floated high...
How she wished upon them she could fly
to be with Ram,
one with lotus eye.
Filled with Ram's presence in her heart
Even though they were oceans apart.
She waited for days and nights
Sita defeated Ravan,
With her sublime fight
In the tyrants very own land...
Even before Ram set his foot on Lankas sand.
