Jijabai
Amidst the Shivneri hill fort,
Times when Mughals ruled the court.
Son of Jijabai and Shahaji,
Was born, the brave Shivaji.
When times were against the tide,
Jijabai emerged as his guide.
Inculcating in him values strong,
Never did Shivaji, do any wrong!
Keeping flame of vengeance blazed,
Her tryst to raise Shivaji was praised.
Instilling in him values of patriotism,
Shivaji turned out to be a persona with dynamism.
Unfaltering faith in God she had,
With blessings of Bhavani and Mahadev clad.
Jijabai, a mother par excellence,
A lady full of love and eloquence.
